About Peek-a-Boo Playgroup

Peek-a-Boo is a warm, nurturing playgroup for 15 months – 3 year olds, offering a gentle transition between home and the early school years. We provide a safe, emotionally secure environment where young children feel loved, understood, and supported as they grow at their own pace. Our approach is rooted in learning through play, allowing children to develop confidence, independence, and emotional regulation naturally.

At Peek-a-Boo, each child is treated as an individual. Our teachers model calm, respectful behaviour and guide children with patience and understanding. Children are never rushed, compared, or pressured. Emotional safety is valued as highly as physical safety, and children are always within caring sight. This creates a space where self-worth grows and learning unfolds naturally.

Peek-a-Boo is exclusively for 15 months - 3 year olds, and this focused approach is one of our greatest strengths. By specialising in this important developmental stage, we are able to offer age-appropriate expectations, gentle pacing, and dedicated support during the early separation years.

Our Environment & Play Spaces

Peek-a-Boo is a small, intimate playgroup with no more than 30 children, allowing for excellent teacher–child ratios and personalised care. Our calm, well-considered environment ensures that every child is known, supported, and nurtured throughout the day.

Children enjoy a large outdoor play area with plenty of space to run and explore on natural grass. Our outdoor facilities include a bike track for coordination and balance, a giant sandpit for sensory and imaginative play, and a variety of gross motor equipment such as trampolines, bikes, and jungle gyms. Outdoor play is an essential part of daily learning at Peek-a-Boo, supporting physical development, confidence, and emotional regulation through joyful movement and self-achievement.

The Importance of Learning Through Play

At Peek-a-Boo, play is not a break from learning, it is how learning happens. Through purposeful, age-appropriate play experiences, children build strong foundations for thinking, movement, communication, and emotional wellbeing. Each play style supports development in a different way, working together to help children grow with confidence and joy.

πŸ‘ Sensory Play πŸ‘

Exploring the world through the senses

Sensory play builds strong brain connections by engaging touch, sight, sound, movement, and smell. Through hands-on exploration, children learn cause and effect, develop focus, and begin to understand how the world works.

These experiences support language, motor skills, problem-solving, and emotional regulation, forming the foundation for future learning.

Our Team

Our teachers are nurturing, understanding, and deeply committed to each child as an individual. They take the time to truly know every little personality, learning how each child thinks, feels, and grows, so they can guide them with care and intention.

With a beautiful balance of fun and calm, our teachers create a space that is active yet gentle, loving yet structured. They model kindness, patience, and good manners, helping children feel safe, confident, and respected.

Strong, caring, and attentive, our teachers support each child’s journey with warmth and encouragement, allowing them to grow at their own pace while celebrating who they are becoming.
